cruiser1812 Posted March 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2014 Think I paid about $35 for a bottle of Vodka on Princess in 2011. I also brought in my own water and soda with no problem, but it appears cruiselines are cracking down. Currently booked on Carnival where I find a bottle of Vodka at $75 and a six pack of Coke for $10. What are other lines charging?

Bonnie J. Posted March 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) Are these the prices if you order a bottle to be delivered to your cabin?? I think so. These are not the prices if you but a bottle from ship's store. Check with Carnival but we have had them match a price for any alcohol we buy in port. I write Carnival's prices down then have this when we go ashore. If Prices are lower than Carnival's I buy ONE bottle and show Carnival my receipt. Then I can get as much alcohol at the port's price from Carnival. (Years ago, in St. Thomas, we could get 3 bottles of Johnny Walker Red or Tankquray (SP!) for a total of $32.00!!! but no longer!!!) In St. Thomas, a US island, you can bring back 5 bottles each so we did. Edited March 9, 2014 by Bonnie J.

BruceMuzz Posted March 10, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 10, 2014 42 years ago I was a room service waiter in a Hilton Hotel in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The prices listed in this thread for full bottles of spirits delivered to your stateroom now are nearly identical to the prices we charged at the Kalamazoo Hilton 42 years ago. But the bottles we served were the smaller "Fifths", not liters. And Hilton added a 25% Service charge on top of those prices.

Yes -- the prices I gave for HAL are the ones when you order through HAL's online service, or through Ship Services or through room service once on board. If you go to the Duty Free shops -- the prices are cheaper and you will not get that liquor until the end of the cruise.
