Hi everyone I want to know people's opinions on Norwegian Sky. I have never sail with NCL I have always sailed with RCCL just wondering about the differences between the 2. I have received a certificate for a casino for a free cruise on the Sky just want to know what to expect thank you in advance

The Sky is one of the few NCL ships I haven't sailed on, but I can offer a suggestion and a comment.

First, the suggestion: If you search these boards for "NCL vs RCCL" or variations of that, you'll find plenty of information about the differences and similarities between the two lines.

My comment: The biggest difference you'll find is simply the size of the ship. NCL's Jewel and Sky class ships are smaller than most current RCCL ships, and they're certainly much smaller than the giants that RCCL is sailing now.

Personally, we like a smaller ship. But if you're the kind of cruiser who wants a climbing rock wall, a wave pool, a fancy atrium with a ton of shops, then NCL's smaller ships are not for you. You might consider the newer NCL ships instead, the Epic and the Getaway, Breakaway ships.

Beyond that, it's my opinion that all the middle of the road cruise lines offer about the same cruise. Food is good, facilities good, ports all mostly the same, on board entertainment all about the same. So if you agree, it just comes down to a matter of homeports, dates, cost, and itinerary.

However, the NCL CAS ("Casinos At Sea") program is the best "frequent gambler" program on the sea right now. Since your cruise certificate is from a casino, I assume you are a gambler (as we are) and I think you'll find the CAS program very attractive. We are NCL cruisers now because the CAS offers are great!
