Disney Excursion

Hello!

 

Has anyone done any of the Disney excursions? Or has anyone gone to Disney on their own without the excursion? If so, how did you get there?

 

I'm debating about going and I have a family member who works at Disney, so I can get discounted tickets. I'm just trying to figure out if it would be best to get my tickets through him and go on my own, or if the transportation on your own is too complicated and if I should just go with the excursion? Thank you!

It's an expensive, loooong day, with very limited time at the park. If you've never been to Disney and this is going to be your only chance to do so, I'd tell you to do it just so that you can say you've been there. Otherwise, it's not worth it.

 

Disney is a good 50 miles away from Port Canaveral. As a rule of thumb, I book through the cruise line when an excursion is taking me far from the ship. You don't want to be stuck in traffic or with broken down transportation that far away without having the peace of mind of knowing that the ship will be waiting for you. The few bucks you'll save by going independently are not worth it.

I wouldn't do Disney at all. It's too much travel time (and money) for too short a time there.

We did the Magic Kingdom excursion on 3/4. My entire family loves Disney and we have been there many many times. With that being said, it is a long bus ride to and from the park. They drop you off at the transportation center, so you will need extra time to get also get there and back to catch the bus. I know the park like the back of my hand, and still had a hard time trying to fit a lot of things in. Unless you go during an off peak time for the park, its not worth it (in my opinion.)
