Bahama Excursions

It's a broad question. How old exactly are your kids? Are they boys or girls?

I did an excursion in Nassau to historic military forts and a pirate museum. If I remember my childhood correctly, I'd say boys ages 6 and up might get a kick out of it. (There were no kids on my excursion, though.) The forts are well-preserved and the workers give you some fascinating facts about how British soldiers lived when stationed in the Bahamas in the 1600's. The pirate museum gives you some real information, rather than media stereotypes, although the tour guide dressed up as Johnny Depp from "Pirates of the Caribbean". The museum is contemporary construction, but the forts are only minimally modernized, so make sure your kids can handle steep stairs and uneven walkways.

Yeah. They had us walk through that first market area where everyone goes through and then across the street to a fountain where you wait for their van to pick you up. There's a place inside the market where you can check-in or call to make sure you're directed to the right area and they know you're waiting. :-)
