Anyone done a trip with Tauck Bridges, the family trips run by Tauck? We are interested in taking our family on the Basel-Amsterdam family cruise next summer to celebrate our 50th anniversary. There would be 9 of us, 6 adults and three granddaughters who'll be 14, 12 and 8 at the time. Would love to hear from anyone with experience on a Bridges program. We've never traveled with Tauck but are sold on them from all the positive comments here. Love the idea of Tauck taking care of everything for this group.

We traveled last year on the Bridges Danube river cruise on the Swiss Jewel. We had a great time. The crew goes out of their way to spoil the kids. The tours are geared to multi generational groups and nobody had any complaints. Everything is included unlike other lines which is nice. Food was very good and they did add "kids' stuff" for the younger ones. We were so impressed we are taking another Bridges tour with Tauck to Italy this summer and next year another river cruise. We also traveled with other competing family tour groups but Tauck ranks highest for "bang for the buck" IMO. Any specific questions I would be happy to answer.:)

Thanks, Joe. Good to hear your great experience. 2 questions: will there be enough to keep the 8 year-old interested? One granddaughter has decided to become a vegetarian. Will there be enough food options for her?

The kids all bonded quickly and kept themselves quite busy as a group. They did have kids' activities like kite flying off the ship, cookie making, scavenger hunts while in town, and arts and crafts type activity while on the ship. Since we traveled mostly during the night we were off the ship during the days. The guides did a nice job keeping the interest of everyone on the tour. We did have at one stop a bike riding excursion where we all rode along the river into a nearby town for ice cream. Bikes were available for all sizes. At night they had movies and an "talent show" while a ship crew member played the piano. The kids had a ball. Yes they did have plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables for meals. Since we dock every day I would suspect if there are any requests the chefs could purchase locally. It seems there was always enough desserts and sweets for everyone. :D

We took a Tauck river cruise a year or so ago and there vegetarian options at every meal. We have also taken a number of Tauck's regular tours. They ask for dining preferences and it's a good to tell them in advance about your dining preferences. They'll make sure there are vegetarian options. On every trip I've taken with Tauck, we've had vegetarians in the group and they were well fed.
