Pookeybear1966 Posted March 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I checked our cruise via fare viewer, Balcony category shows 20.00 less than if I mock book via carnival.com. How do I compare if it doesn't show the different categories of balcony pricing on fare viewer (I think our balcony on Empress is a step above what fare viewer quotes (they quote lowest)?)...I sent in the price protection form, which carnival denied...so I went to mock booking and realized the stateroom we have is same price as carnival.com but 20.00 more than fare viewer. Our balcony is on Empress Deck 8C category. Last cruise whatever fare viewer came up with for balcony I submitted and got price reduction. So do I just have to do mock bookings to figure out price matching? And when does fare viewer show all categories to price match to?
jgr8fulbear Posted March 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2014 On fare viewer you need to take it one step further, choose the rate you are looking at and it will bring up a menu with the catagory prices based on that rate Sent from my SGH-M919 using Forums mobile app
Pookeybear1966 Posted March 18, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I didn't see the option to break it down. It gave me one rate only. Maybe cause it's so far out.
CatlinSTJ Posted March 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I've always seen the categories displayed. The price comparison needs to match exactly though if you're planning to submit a price drop. If you're category is sold out, it will not be listed. Next cruise: Carnival Breeze June 2014
Ilove6dogs Posted March 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2014 On the fareviewer, once you select whith type of cabin you have booked you have to select continue next and it will break out the cabin categories.
klaner64 Posted March 18, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Also keep in mind that the rate on Fare Viewer is before taxes and port fees.
