San Pedro suggestions

Recommended Posts

We'll be on Coral Princess docking in San Pedro in May, going on to Vancouver. Looking for suggestions for the day we spend in San Pedro. Our daughter lived in LA so we've done all the touristy things, and don't want to spend an hour each way getting into the city. The USS Iowa is nearby, can we walk from the ship? Anything else to see? How about Long Beach? (Other than the Queen Mary, which we've seen).

Have you been over to the West Coast Departures Board? There is a thread about San Pedro where you can post your questions and get great answers from SP residents. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1343892. Also, visit the SP Tourist site http://www.sanpedro.com/media/San_Pedro_Fanfare.htm

I like Long Beach, especially Second Street in Belmont Shore, or walking the peninsula. You would have to rent a car to get there though.

In San Pedro itself Ports O'Call is a main attraction.

If you have a car , the Terranea Resort in nearby Palos Verdes has beautiful ocean trails with great views and several restaurants.
