grod19 Posted March 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2014 I was onboard the Explorer of the Seas for 9 ngts March 2nd trip. I didn't spend a ton of time in the casino but figured I would put my thoughts here for others to read. The staff was very friendly. The first night after a bunch of drinks and before heading to bed I decided to hit the casino for a little. I sat at a blackjack table with $100, making usually $10 bets. First 30 minutes was your usual blackjack win lose win lose etc. Then I won 2-3 hands in a row and pressed it up a little, jumped to 20, win, 25, win, 30 win. You get the picture. Long story short I finally lost with $85 in the circle. Blackjack on 50 and 70, double down win on 80. After I lost, I played maybe 5 more hands back at $10 realized the streak was over and ran for the hills. Left with about +700, did a 15 minute session at let it ride and made another $150. Not a bad first night. After that I avoided the casino for the most part. I was determined to leave the ship with a 0 dollar bill and more money than I got onboard with. The only other comment I really have is I played a little poker one night when the table was open. It only had about 5 people. When I found out what the rake was I ran for the hills, 10% up to $15!!!!!!! That makes it incredibly hard to end up ahead with a rake like that so I avoided the place for the rest of the trip.
