Colon Pier: What time should we arrive/depart?

We are leaving tomorrow night for Panama and will be staying at the Waldorf prior to boarding the Vision of the Seas on Saturday morning!

I can't wait!

My question is: what time should we leave the hotel in Panama City to begin the journey to Colon? My understanding is that this trip can often take 1.5 hours, depending on traffic?

We love getting to the port early, and getting on board to begin our cruise as soon as possible. Official boarding begins at 12pm.

As of now, I've tentatively scheduled transportation to leave the hotel in Panama City at 9:30am the day of the cruise. Is this adequate? I'd love to hear from others who have made this journey!

Also, we dock the following week at 6:30am. I'm assuming there is time required to clear customs, etc. I've arranged the return journey for 9:30am. Is this good?

Thank you!
