Best Hotels near Tampa Cruise Port?

Hi-We have booked the Brilliance out of Tampa next year and are wondering about the best hotels near the port?

 

We need something not too far from Amtrak, as we are taking the train

to Tampa. Thanks in advance for info.

Look at Embassy Suites Convention Center or Hilton downtown, both are very close to rail and seaport.

I booked the Embassy Suites for my upcoming cruise. Got suitcase on wheels (duffle style) and am very active. Do you think it's possible to walk from the hotel to the port? Or do they offer a shuttle?

 

If you took a taxi, how much was it?

We looked at Embassy Suites Convention Center and it was quite expensive.

Surprising, as we have stayed at other ES for much less.

 

Still looking. Is Ybor City area good?

We found it cheaper to book the hotel and parking separately. Specifically we used the parking doctors ($60 for a week cruise) and the double tree.

Downtown Tampa has Embassy Suites, Marriott, Hilton, Sharaton, and a Courtyard. There's a Westin on Harbour Island. Also nearby in Ybor is a Hilton Garden Inn.

 

I would not suggest walking it to any of the hotels from the Amtrak station. It's in an industrial part of town between downtown and Ybor. Most of the hotels I listed should have a shuttle or it's a quick taxi ride.

 

We live in the ares, so don't hit the hotels much, but we like to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Ybor when we want to have a late night out. It's in walking distance of all the Ybor hot spots.

You did say "best" and to be close to rail. You will need to book close to the airport for budget motels
