Oppgaard Posted June 5, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted June 5, 2004 I saw your posting on another thread and couldn't believe that someone else had already booked also. We were wanting cabin 6145 or 6146 and this is the only 12 day trip on Infinity that either one of these cabins were available. We just returned from about the same cruise on Mercury and had such a good time that we had to book again. Our butler in our SS was simply fantastic and only hoope that next year will only be half as good and we will be pleased. I see that you were a former cruise director for Celebrity and I was a former flight attendentant for American. I also went to school for a while at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee so know your area pretty well. If you want, email me directly at jerry.forcruises@verizon.net and we can get better acquainted. Thanks. Jerry DesertCruiser
Treven Posted June 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 6, 2004 If you're referring to the Atlantis cruise, it's been moved up to August 21st from Sept 3. I've already got my reservation in - for a couple months already. Oppgaard Posted June 6, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted June 6, 2004 I was not referring to the Atlantis trip. I didn't even know that they had one scheduled for Infinity to Alaska. DesertCruiser
kwsunset Posted June 8, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 8, 2004 I guess we just missed it. It is a 7 nighter from Vancouver to Vancouver. Oh well, I really wanted a 12 nighter out of San Francisco. It gives me a couple of days to spend on the West Coast. I'm finished with the 7 day cruises. I work hard and need the time to unwind and relax. It also makes it easier to meet people on a 12 night or longer cruise. (Of course I realize if you are on an Atlantis Cruise you will meet people from the moment you board). Looking forward to Icy Straight, a new Celebrity port. It is incredibly beautiful, I am told. Michael MDZ

CelebrityMan Posted July 4, 2004 #9 Share Posted July 4, 2004 Greetings Guys, Wishing all of you the best on your Alaskan adventure. My partner & I will be bringing Infinity to you on the May 1-16, 2005 cruise, Ft. Lauderdale to San Fran. We'll try to have the crew/staff whipped into shape... Hehehe. I must echo the sentiments re: 7-day cruises. We're done with those, too. In fact, our last one was in 1998. Since then we've only done 11 days or longer. Shorter sailings are far too port-intensive, and we need the longer cruises to relax and de-stress from our jobs. After all, being pampered by the crew and enjoying pleasant company ought to be what cruising is all about! Again, all our best to you for smooth sailing and gay ol' times.
