szq5231 Posted April 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Our ship gets into Grand Turk early in the morning (0700) and I was wondering if the beach is appropriate for a morning run? Thanks, szq
Rare crewsweeper Posted April 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Yes. But I would head to your right off the pier and go past the whale statue. Then you can run along the beach to the south point, turn left and run along the northeast side, past the "Eye"-an ruins and the "wild" horses grazing. All sand. If you go left off the pier, you'll end up at Jacks in about 500 meters or so. You can exit there to the road and run up to Governors Beach then continue on to Cockburntown. For road running, head left out of the cruise port parking area and go along the road past the airport. up past town, the road branches tot he right and is sparsely traveled (mostly golf carts and taxis) up to the lighthouse, about 6 miles or so. szq5231 Posted April 7, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Thanks so much! Looks like I'll be going to the right!
Rare crewsweeper Posted April 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2014 You can run all the way up to South Creek cove by the Hawks Nest Plantation and Gun Hill. That'd be close to 3 miles from the cruise center. I think you can go around on the bay but you do run into the airport on the northside of South Creek. But it'll be you and the seabirds from the south point on.
