Last vote children's beach

We have two young sons. The oldest is 7 and the youngest just turned 4. We want a beach day and we leave in a week and I have been struggling with the decision.....

 

1. Orient Beach

2. Divi Beach

 

The nudity is not a big deal for us. We took the boys to Playa del Carmen for 8 days last July and they saw plenty of nudity. I just do not know which beach is best for us.

 

We would like, nice sand, water, chair and umbrella rental, restrooms and snacks.

OK - if nudity does not bother you I would vote for Orient Beach

Why:

the beach is A LOT longer

the sand is lovely

Plenty of restaurants to choose from (they all rent loungers etc - so you can find one who will give you the best deal)

They all have washrooms and most have some sort of outdoor shower setup

Basically there is just more to choose from at Orient and because of its length, it is easy to find a nice uncrowded section

Thanks for the info Zeno. Sounds like the correct choice for us! How long does it take to get to Orient Beach and back? I like to allow enough time to be safe!

It depends somewhat on the time of day (yes there is a rush hour in St Martin). Normally it takes about 20-30 minutes max BUT to be on the safe side I would time it so that you arrive at the dock at least one full hour before the ship is due to leave. And at the end of the day there may be a little grid lock at the dock with lots of people trying to return at the same time.

One more quick question. Where should we ask the taxi driver to drop us off? Is there a better part than another?

Where can we catch a taxi back or just back to the road?

Have the driver drop you at Pedros then when you want to leave just go to Pedros and there will be lots of cabs waiting.
