soaringfalcon Posted April 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2014 We agreed to have a daughter bring a friend this trip and are covering her entire fare so we got an OX cabin. I showed DH the picture where it's wall to wall beds with the pull down and he is freaking out. Says he'll cancel the entire cruise because he won't live like that LOL. He called NCL today and he thinks based on what they told him that we can move the pullman sideways and not have the sea of beds. I'm not convinced. sebas030 Posted April 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2014 If I understand correctly you will be 4 in one OX cabin ? If so, you will have two "pulldown" bed ( one on each side of the room ) and the 2 single beds that makes the full size bed for two can be either pushed against the left or right wall or in the middle. But you have about 2 foot of "wiggle" room in total...so the bed in the middle will give you 1 feet of clearance on each side. If you were to pus the beds against one wall, then you have a 2 foot clearance ...but still under the upper bed. I would strongly recommend a balcony room or mini-suite to get the pullout bed/sofa. soaringfalcon Posted April 13, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted April 13, 2014 Yes, it was going to be for in an OX. The Gem doesn't have two pull down beds for some reason…it has one pull down and pullman. DH just called and upgraded to an aft mini. We'll all be MUCH happier. PCLMassachusetts Posted April 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2014 The only scenario would be if you got a different category (bigger, more expensive) room. Worth the extra money in my opinion to be comfortable.
peg013 Posted April 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) Try this - the "third bed" is put at the top of the room (instead of between the other two beds) and forms a upside down "U"...... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=42174821&postcount=29 Edited April 13, 2014 by peg013
