Miracle water slide

I went down it twice on our cruise a few months back.

It was fun, slides are always faster if you lie down. Also be sure they are wearing actual swimsuits and not shorts and Ts as certain fabrics don't go as fast on slides.

I went crazy fast on the Miracle's slide. I go crazy fast on all Carnival waterslides. Some people go slow & even stop, but it's not the slides fault. Like Lerin said, you need to lie down, and do not wear a t-shirt. A shirt will cause you to go very slow. Regular swim shorts are fine, but you need to lift the butt off the slide, no matter what you're wearing. The only thing that touches the slide should be the shoulder blades and the heels of the feet. If you do that, you will go ridiculously fast. If it feels too fast, your butt is your breaks. Every single person who I've told this to and has then tried it has gone very fast.

The problem with some people is that either they're wearing a shirt or they're riding with all their weight on their butt. That causes them to start to slow down, and their natural reaction to slowing down is to sit up, which will then cause them to stop. Then they blame the slide.

We are on the Miracle to Alaska on its very next sailing. I wonder if waterside will be open? If not my kids will be BUMMED

I haven't read any reports to see if it usually is or not, but you might want to prepare your kids. It may be too cold. Hopefully, there will be some time that it can be open. On the Dream in January, it was in the low to mid 60s for highs on embarkation day. But they opened the waterslides anyway, and several kids (plus me) were partaking of them. But the attitude of fellow cruisers is different on Alaska cruises regarding waterslides, so I don't know what they'll do.
