Drink Packages do not show up online

Hello,

I recently booked an August 23rd cruise on the Divina.

I read a few other threads on how to add the various drink packages to a reservation. Using those threads I was able to get to the page that list the various packages available. Here is what i see :

Dear XXX XXXX,

Below you will find the excursions and special services available for your cruise.

Note: Only one Shore Excursion can be reserved per port.

However, nothing is listed! Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe I am trying to add them too early? Also, I only have a deposit paid on the cruise so far. Do you have to be 'paid in full' to add the drink packages?

Thanks!

Booking drink works fine as long you have your booking #. The process is to pick package, enter booking #. It'll display name, sailing date & all package that can be ordered. Just pick & put into shopping cart. On shopping cart checkout it'll ask for email address that receipt us to be sent. At this time packages are just ordered. Show the receipt in the casino bar for vouchers & MDR - for wine & you'll get the voucher book. You'll be billed for them in the final bill on the last day.

Here is how it looks

Here is some legal verbage from the email "The full payment will be taken from you at the time of embarkation. Should you cancel or modify any service booked, no charge will be applied if we are notified of your cancellation and/or change no later than 9 (nine) days before the day of embarkation. Should you cancel or modify any service booked later than 9 (nine) days before the day of embarkation, you will be subject to a cancellation charge which amounts to the 15% of the price of the service or product booked but in no case whatsoever higher than 30 euros."

Could you post the link you use?

When I click on any of the beverage package links, it routes me to here :

http://www.msccruisesusa.com/us_en/Reservations-On-Board/Login.aspx?sscd=BKALCH

I then enter my info ( booking #, name, ship, sailing date ), and then I get what I posted in the original post.

So unless there is another link, or I am missing something, it is not working for me.

Start with http://www.msccruisesusa.com/us_en/Special-Services/Beverage-Packages.aspx Click on any package (Book Now button). You'll see a page asking for personal details. Enter captcha string. Then it'll display applicable packages that you should be able to add to cart.

Thx for the info. However, the same thing happens with this link as the others described above...I enter the info, and the page comes up indicating that a list should be there...but it isn't.

I had the same problem! I ended up calling customer service and waiting on hold for several minutes, but they were very helpful and took care of adding the drink package for me!

Good, I'm glad it isn't just me then!

It seems you get vouchers for some of the drink packages. Can you share those vouchers with your spouse or must you use them only for yourself. Such as, if I get the 14 beer package, do I have to use all 14 for me or could I use say 10 vouchers and my wife use the other 4)? Not asking what I can get away with, asking what is authorized. Thanks.

There is no name on vouchers, Allegrissimo, wine or beer. Anyone on the ship can use them so try not to lose them.

Thanks for the info. I checked and nothing showed up for me online either so I called. Unfortunately, the Escape package is not available for our sailing for some reason so I picked up the beer package for both my wife and I (and it's now $57 for 14 beers instead of the $52 shown online). I'll make sure to not let our vouchers get out of sight! :D

Don't confuse "not available" with "not availble YET."

Keep trying. As discussed in the other thread, trying to reserve too far out can result in a disrupted link chain because they don't finish building the season's itinerary until several months before embarkation.

As Out To Sea has discovered, you can ocassionally get a customer service person on the phone to write you up for certain services before that time. But in some cases, you may still not see the purchase or reservation on your profile online because really all they're doing is recording your request (maybe billing your credit card, but probably not) and eventually the paperwork gets to the billing dept or reservations at around the same time everyone else can reserve online.

Ok so then maybe it IS too early to book them online..and must be why those of us that have a late summer booking do not see them listed online yet.

I just want to make sure I can book the "ALLEGRISSIMO ESCAPE" ( 15 voucher ) package at SOME point. The drink voucher system is one of the reasons we decided to try MSC to begin with!

Oh and what do you mean by 'several months before'? My sailing is Aug 23rd, 2014 on the Divina. Not too far away!

As an FYI, yes, they did take my CC info (Credit Card, not Cruise Critic :D) and it did show up on my bill today so I know they have charged me (which is fine). As the customer rep stated (after she talked with a supervisor) some packages are not available on all cruises. Don't know why, it's just the way it is. I'm happy and my wife is happy with what she got. Yes, she wished she could have gotten the Escape package so she could have drank some wine as well, but as a German, beer is no problem whatsoever for her! :)

Best bet is to call in an see if the Escape package is available for your sailing. If it is, you can go ahead and order it and not worry about whether it shows up online or not. My sailing is Dec 6th so they can tell whether or not it will be available for your sailing.

I am sailing out on August 9th sailing and was able to book the escape vouchers over a month ago. They show in my cart as confirmed. I think it may be a glitch in system because definitely not too early to book for August sailings.

Just an update...I called in and was able to book two ESCAPE ( 15 voucher ) packages. The rep was just about as confused as me as to why I could not book anything online.

However, even though they are now booked, they still do not show up online under my booking...are they supposed to?

Update #2. When I click on 'email your booking summary', the drink packages show up in the emailed summary.

So I'm finally happy that everything was booked properly!

I'll have to say though....when I compare the MSC website functionality to their competition, it really needs help!

Hey, thanks for that tidbit. Now I have a hard copy showing I've paid for our beer packages.

I had a problem trying to book the escape foe one until I found a thread that said you cannot book for one oneline only for all in cabin & to call it in, I did & all is ok. I also asked about the wine pkg I booked, agent does not see it, so I prepaid t, I may now have 2 wine packages. I`m going to be some alcoholic when I get off.
