Cunard Survey

I've now received another Cunard email with a link to a questionnaire that now works. Some very interesting ideas for the Kings Court and the Winter Garden. Took me ages to complete (longer than 20 minutes) :D

It's strange - they seem to send out loads of surveys at the same time but the surveys themselves aren't always the same. I just had another one which appeared to be identical to the one I filled in last week which may have failed because of the problem that's been mentioned. But there was no mention of Kings Court of the Winter Garden.

One of the first questions was which ship I took my last cruise on which was the QM2 so a lot of the questions were about the QM2 - which type of cabin I prefer Classic or Contemporary etc so this is obviously geared to the refit next year.

Ah - that all sounds familiar. Maybe we were singing from the same hymn sheet after all :D

I have just completed the survey and was thrilled to see that they might just be about to update the Kings Court - hooray :D:D:D.

Just out of interest one of the improvements (IMO obviously) that I requested was open seating.

I find the early sitting too early and (sadly) these days the late seating is verging on being too late for me.

I would really appreciate being able to eat at say 7.30 - 8pm at a time of my choosing. Practicalities apart (I am aware it might not be logistically possible) would others feel the same way?

I put exactly the same thing.

----------------

The following is from the survey:

Cunard is reviewing possible options to potentially redesign the Kings Court to elevate the overall experience of this area.

Ideas for change:

Arrive

As you arrive at the restaurant, you’d be standing on a slightly raised platform elevating you above the serving and seating areas, giving you a very good view of the space and what is on offer.

You would be greeted by a member of staff who would act as your host, introducing you to the range of dining options that day.

Enter and browse

From the entrance area, you’d see one large area, divided into a number of food courts and markets with a dramatic display of food.

As you descend into the food service area, you’d be presented with numerous food stalls, each specialising in a particular cuisine.

You would browse and explore the man options, watching the chefs prepare dishes in front of you.

Select and eat

Once you’ve made your selections, you would serve yourself as you wish from the many choices, with expert help from the staff as required.

You’d then move to one of the intimate, quiet, screened off eating areas, each with its own individual character and theme – for instance: The Conservatory, The Bakery, The Library, The Dairy and so on

In each, you’d find tables laid with cutlery, table mats, fine condiments, with plenty of space for you, and waiting staff to take drinks orders and clean and clear tables.

Tea & coffee area

If you’re simply wanting teas and coffee, the tea and coffee bar near to the main entrance will make it easy for you to be served efficiently and in style.

This area would be furnished with comfortable seats and armchairs, and staffed by expert baristas. You’d have a great variety to choose from and be very professionally served.

Ideas for the Winter Garden are:

Healthy eating venue

Sushi restaurant

Gastro pub

Venue with barista serving speciality teas and coffees, cakes and pastries

Seafood/oyster bar

Healthy eating venue including dedicated space for spa users (enabling spa users to book longer or full day packages as they could relax and dine there too)

I got the survey about one week ago. There was a great deal of content, especially concerning the Winter Garden and King's Court. Seemed to me that there is a lot of work and thinking being done around the reorganization of Deck 7;ideas like sushi and very high end specialty venues. I just hope they don't mess up what is superb-if it ain't broke don't fix it!Told them to go back to a few 6 day crossings and DO NOT go longer than 7. Most of QM2 is beyond superb and they should leave her that way-and not gild the lily!

I watched her sail on MONDAY and as usual wished I was on board-will be in two months!:D
