susquehannaretriever Posted July 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2005 Anyone sail out of NY city and stay @ a fairly close, decent priced (for NY that is) hotel near the NY passenger ship terminal? If so any info. would be appreciated:D
Jane110 Posted July 31, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2005 The area around the piers has very few hotels, very few restaurants and in general offers nothing that a tourist would want. There are garages, car dealerships and light industry, making the area desolate at night and the blocks creepy to walk around after dark with nothing pretty to see. Is there a particular reason why you want to stay in that area? Unless there is, I would advise against it.
petlover Posted July 31, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 31, 2005 Jane, you took the words out of my mouth! I couldn't agree more. Why waste being in such a fabulous city especially with cabs everywhere. I'd suggest staying in Midtown where there's so much to see and do and some of the best restaurants in the world.
