NCL Martinique Excursions?

We are booked on the Pearl for 3 weeks in Dec.

Martinique is not showing any excursions (yet)

I have been on the Port forum, and there are conflicting opinions on weather or not one needs Euros. IF anyone has sailed to this port with NCL, can you tell me some of the excursions offered? and if they exchange currency for Euros on board?

I THINK this will be one of the rare instances where it will make sense for us to do a ship excursion. Taxis are very expensive as are independent tours. Not to mention the challenge of needing Euros.

Any and all info from anyone who has been to Martinique with NCL will be most appreciated!

This one appeals to the missus and I:

Adult Pricing From

$ 59.00

Estimated Duration

4¼ hours

South Panoramic With Beach

Depart Fort-de-France via the main road to reach the south of Martinique, passing close to the economic heart of the island. Before arriving at Marin Village, you'll stop at the Marin Bay viewpoint for spectacular panoramic views. Learn the local history about this bay, where many battles were fought between the English and French from the 17th to 19th century. After this stop, you'll drive to Pointe Marin beach.

Enjoy swimming and relaxing on this white sand beach with its clear water. Your return to the ship will be via the Atlantic coast road with pleasant landscapes, banana plantations, valleys and sea views as you travel through local villages.

Note: Not recommended for guests who suffer from motion sickness. Beach chairs are available for rent at the beach (limited quantities). Snacks may be purchased at a restaurant.

Located at the southern entrance to the Bay of Marin, Pointe Marin beach is in the top 5 of the most beautiful beaches of the island. Its fine white sand, the blue water, coconut trees that provide welcome shade are obviously one of the places to swim the nicest on the island.

It also has public showers to rinse off after swimming.

The atmosphere is very family because it is a place chosen by families or groups of friends to spend the day. On weekends, the site is very busy. So you can enjoy the local heat diffusion often with music.

Snacks and refreshment will allow you to eat on site.

Swimming is monitored.

Various activities are offered as introductory dive (boat trip and swimming equipment) , rental canoeing or even jet skis.

The entrance is fee for vehicles, so be sure to have a few euros (less than 5 €) if you come by car.

To get there, you must go in the direction of the town of Sainte-Anne, just before the entrance to the center, signage leads precisely to this beach.
