Why is your luggage allowance so low? For the cost of formal hire wouldnt it be cheaper just to add extra baggage to your flight allowance? Depending on which ship/cruise you may well find many dont dress up formally - we do - but there is a wide variety of dress on board on gala nights. You wont look out of place in cocktail dress & jacket/trousers - I take my husbands kilt - but put it in hand luggage - it weighs a tonne (blaming him for my excess baggage ;) ) Nothing to do with my heels/dresses etc etc etc
BillieB Posted May 2, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted May 2, 2014 Thank you for your reply, after the cruise we are going straight to Umbria working voluntarily on a conservation project, so they'll be other luggage with working clothes as well. The excess baggage payment seems favourite.

Aaah - in which case I wouldnt fuss too much over formals - smart casual really is adequate on Costa - You will see all sorts - whatever makes you comfortable and practical for your traveling makes the best option. I am BIG on dressing up - but on our last cruise I really, having four formal nights - couldnt be bothered one night, I had dress jeans on with an embellished top - and you know what - it was just fine.
