Half Day Jet Ski Rental vs Jet Ski Tour...

Hi guys! I know the jet ski/wave runner questions are constantly asked here, but Im need some advice.

My SO and I will be in the Caymans at the end of the month. Ive seen where I can rent a jet ski for 3 hours for $225 or Fat Fish Adventures, has the guided tour for $125. Our budget will allow us to either rent one jet ski and ride together for $225 or both rent our own at $125.

The catch is that neither one of us really care about seeing the sting rays. We are looking for more of a cruise around, hit a few beaches, snorkel stops, etc. I also like the thought of being able to go at my own pace. However, she likes the idea of having her own.

What do you guys think?

If you are on a "tour", you will not be able to do your own thing. You don't HAVE to participate in the stingrays, but you won't be able to do any waverunning during that time...you'll be sitting around, and waiting for everyone else.

If you wish to DIY, then just get the 3 hour rental, and take turns!!! That's a pretty good price for 3 hours...I think hubby paid around $99 for 45 mins. Do make sure you can go where you want. While hubby could do what he wanted, he still had to stay within a "set" area....I guess the vendors don't want you to take off and not come back...they wanted visual confirmation of his location!

Cool, thanks for the info! I dont really like the idea of sharing and letting her drive some. lol. I ride motorcycles and stuff, so Im used to being the driver and having someone ride behind me. I think we may just do the stingray tour thing unless anyone else has a better idea for us!
