Booked my first B2B. Now...how exactly does a B2B work on the same ship/cabin???

Thank you to everyone!!

A few people said that in Tampa you do not even need to get off of the ship... I wonder why.... although I would think thats a really good thing!!:D

I booked at seperate times, first leg back in February and the second just yesterday. But again, as others have done I will go to guest services. I will have to go in order to put cash on my account. Just have to remember on the last night to cash out in the casino:p

Not that this matters, but they really give you a gift for doing a B2B? Interesting....

My last B2B was out of Tampa, I was surprised to but they didn't make us get off the ship. Yes they will give you a small gift,

Out of curiosity, if you are doing a B2B, does that mean that your custom allowances are doubled?

I believe you would have to take what you bought on your first leg to your car after the first leg, I don't think you can wait till after the second leg and take it all off. If you flew then your prolly SOL

Paul, did you have to do anything to get your cruise history corrected, or was it a temporary glitch?

And sewut, I also like to save my S&S cards!

Melissa,

Our cruise history is accurate now, but that wasn't the only time it's happened. My past guest number, or VIFP number as they now call it, has been the same throughout, but Karen and the boys each have had two or more that they merged two years ago. They said that having more than one number was likely the reason that the totals didn't always add up.

I have noticed that when I'm booking online I have more than one of each member of my family to choose from when choosing travel companions, so I suspect there may be a gremlin or two left in the system....

Kind of a stupid question as it would not be the worst thing in the world....

For a B2B, on the first leg what time can you have breakfast till? MDR I think rather then the Lido.

I know on the last leg, I have to run off the ship since my flight is at 11am back home.

I can't remember what time the MDR was open till on debarkation day. I just remember that it wasn't open as late as on normal days. And it did open quite early.

Unless you plan on sleeping in that last morning, you could still enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the MDR.

You will get a notice in your cabin the night before telling you what time, and where to meet morning of debark.

Carnival employees will escort you through customs and back onto the ship. you don't go any further then that. They also will give you a new card. If you also want your old card go to guest services and pick it up.

So far on return to my cabin there has been a gift. Don't know if cause i was Gold, or later platinum, but nice any way.

Hope this helps.

Call carnival and link your cruises. We did a back to back out of Tampa. You will not get a embarkatipn (sp) picture. I was disappointed about that. But other than that it was easy peasy. Oh and FUN!!!

Have fun!

When you book a B2B the ship and cabin person already knows this and you should not have to tell anyone any thing. Like you said nice and easy.I always get my B2B where i don't have to change cabins.

Just be where they tell you, and when they tell, you and you should have no problems what so ever. They will not lead you to customs till all of the other passangers are off the shiip, then you go, then they start letting the new people on. Been there, and done that, so many times and will again in September.

Good luck and happy cruising.

If your addressing the OP, they will not have to meet anywhere, and will not be escorted off the ship, they do not have to get off the ship. They can sleep in if they chose to, and can go back to their room anytime they want to. And they will not take their old S&S card from them.

When we did our B2B, we met in the Lobby and a group of us were walked off the ship and over to customs. We turned in our customs declaration form, showed our passports and were escorted right back on board. They gave us our new sign and sail cards when we got off and took the S&S card from the first leg after we dinged off the ship.

Once back on board, I went back to our cabin and did laundry since we weren't platinum at that time.

Are you permitted to keep your sign and sail card from the first leg?

I stated from the beginning it was my experiece as evidently i don't know everyones experiences, that is the only thing that bugged me is YOU did NOt understand that fact. This is one Missouiran talking to another.

I also know that each ship and port does things differrently. Mine was in Miami and FLL only, All Carnival.

Other people are more then welcome to get on here and tell us their experiences as it might come in handy some day.

I do understand that, but you seemed a little bothered when all I did was answer someone else's question, even though you may have already answered it. Some people just don't go through the thread to see if the answer is there or not. Sorry if maybe we just had a misunderstanding.

That is what this board is about giving, or talking about experiences or asking questions. All is welcome.

I just thought you got a tad personal there for a bit is all. No hard feelings at all.

We did a b2b in January on the Triumph out of Galveston. They have you meet at Guest Services. They give you your new card and they escort you off the ship and through Customs and back on the ship. You can leave the the ship with your "guest in transit" paper, but we just went right back on. We were also in the same cabin, but yes we did have to exit the ship, go thru Customs, and come back on board.

Done B2B in San Juan and Port Canaveral. Both times, meet in the lobby, off the ship, and back on if you choose or tour the port. Planning another for San Juan in January. Sad to hear about the booze being delivered at the end instead of the middle. We got it at the end of the first leg last 2 years on B2B. Now thinking that we might do the gift shop thing this time. We've had the same cabin all three times. We use the first week to relax and scope out the ports, then the second to tour. Our only complaint on other 2 b2b was too many sea days. We are port people so the Valor's southern ports suit us perfectly.
