First time in Jamaica with 4 teens and a 3 year old

Our family do 7 (4 teens between 19 & 13 plus a 3 year old) will be stopping in Falmouth for a day on our Western Caribbean itinerary, and we're having problems finding something we can do with the 3 year old that the teens would also enjoy. We've looked at Dunns River Falls, Blue Hole, and ship tours of either Montego Bay or Ocho Rios. What would you suggest? Can we do Dunns River or Blue Hole with a 3 year old? Or is there another activity that you would suggest?

We just were in Falmouth a few months ago. We had a spectacular day with Noel "Steve" Smith ( noelsmith99@yahoo.com). We went to the river tubing first. This would be fun for everyone from 3 to 93. The three year old could ride on someone's lap - that's what my DD did when she was little. Now she is 9 and of course has to ride in her own tube and insists on hang near the guides. The guides sing songs and chants going down the river. They make it really fun. There is a place they stop where there is a little wooden swing. You can get of your tubes for photos and take a dip. I don't think the water is more than thigh deep at any point. At some places, it's only inches deep. It is a really nice float trip.

Then we went to Dunn's Falls when all the megabuses were leaving - PERFECT! We climbed the falls with hardly anyone around. We did it on our own. We have done it before - you don't need a guide. It's nice to go with a private driver and take your time at the falls. We took lots of photos and the kids played under the falls and climbed up and down and back up alternate routes for fun. The three year old could have a great time playing at the beach at the bottom. There is also a shallow pool area at the top and somewhere near the middle. There are points along the way to exit and enter the falls where you like.

I think your family could have a great day tubing and climbing the falls.

On the way back, we stopped at Scotchies for local jerk chicken and pork - YUMMY! We got back to the pier with about an hour and 30 minutes to spare. We left about an hour after we docked in the morning. The kids said it was the best day ever! We all had so much fun.

Thanks for the responses! Mystic Mountain is something to look into for the kids. I loved the pictures, Travel Mom! Looks like you had a great day in Jamaica! Can you tell me if there were life jackets available at the tubing or falls? Also, if anyone knows about Blue Hole and age restrictions I'd appreciate that info too! Thanks!

Hi! We just got off the Breeze. We used Courtney Taylor for our excursions in Jamaica and could not be anymore pleased with our trips to the Blue Hole, river rafting and lunch at Scotchies. We were quite a mixed party with two 60 year old one with rods in the back, a 35 year old Down syndrome son ,daughter and son in law 30 somethings and their 2 and four year old boys, so we didn't know what to expect. We had crazy Dean as our guide and he made sure that we got the best of all guides at each stop. They took extra care of the kids and said that they were the youngest to ever do the Blue Hole. Yes both boys took the leap with a guide and loved it. They carried them both up the side of the waterfall and still were able to assist us up the hill and encouraged all of us to jump, which we did and it was quite the rush. after 4 jumps we were ready to move on to our river tubing. We had 2 guides ( Orlando and George ) who kept us safely away from the rocks and banks and sang to us all the way. After all of this activity we were off to Scotchies, a stop not to be missed great Jerk, peas, rice and festivals and some Red Stripes. We invited Dean to eat with us and enjoyed his company and conversation. So if your looking for a company that goes above and beyond look no further than Courtney Taylor. He's the bomb!!!
