Caribbean Princess info needed

Every ship has a 2 letter designation.

 

CP is already being used so CB is chosen for the Caribbean Princess.

Coral and Island "smaller"? You do know that they are longer than the CB, right?

 

I've been on the CB and never felt it was crowded. The only Princess ship I've ever been on that felt crowded was the Golden and that was because it was very cold outside, too cold to even use the covered pool area, and the CD had very few activities planned so people literally camped out in the buffet and Atrium area for the day, making it impossible to find a table to eat at.

When I say "smaller," I mean fewer pax. Is it not true that the ships I named carry +/-1000 fewer pax than CP? Perhaps my info regarding passenger capacity is incorrect or outdated. I have not recently checked every detail of every Princess ship to verify that the statistics I have are still true... I guess I'll go do that now!

Where do the two letter designations come from? From the Princess Web site under ships they use these codes as part of the URL for each of the ships.

Now the next question will be who at Princess sits around thinking up the two letter designations for the ships? I have no idea and does it really matter?

 

Sorry that you did not like the CB. As you can see in my signature we are willing to try different cruise lines but prefer Princess. We have been on the CB 6 times and love the CB. We have never repeated an itinerary on any of our cruises on the CB. We have never felt crowded and have been on her in all kinds of weather. Each cruise we have seen MINOR things that needed to be addressed but by our next cruise on her they have been addressed. Our last cruise was in March of this year and she was in great shape with only a few broken tiles that I spotted on deck 7 outside the rear elevators. I am positive that those will be fixed in short order if they have not already been replaced. As for carpet I have NEVER seen any worn carpet anywhere on the CB…stains yes. But they could change the carpet and just after changing it a passenger can spill something on it and it is again stained. So let’s not get to upset about stains on the carpet. You can hardly walk anywhere on the CB that you do not run into staff painting/varnishing. As for elevators out of service that means that they are doing maintenance or checking them. All elevators on ships or on land must be inspected on a regular basis. When they have one out of service I am glad to see it as I know that they are doing what needs to be done to keep us safe.
