We have stayed on plaza deck in an outside stateroom twice now and although I love the location we found it noisy when docking early in the mornings.

That might be bad although it might wake you up for early morning activities on ship :)

Cruise carnival twice

Disney cruiseline. 5-6 times

Room service menus for non-suite cabins is pretty limited. Not really meals. You can go to the Horizon court and bring plates of food and eat in your cabin, but again with four people, that might be difficult. We've done it with two of us (if he gets up early, my husband will eat in the Horizon and then make up breakfast plates for the girl and me), but the table in the inside cabins can be tiny so one of us would need to eat in bed or at the desk).

I am starting to think having this tiny room is going to be an interesting experience.. How was horizon food? Can you eat breakfast and lunch in dining rooms?
