Rosyth

Recommended Posts

Hi Molly

The first thing you need to know is that Rosyth is a commercial port and where you dock is a fairly industrial area. This means you are bussed from the ship to the terminal building even though it would only take a few minutes to walk. The port is a bit away from all local amenities so you will need to get a taxi to the nearest railway station which is at Inverkeithing. There are usually taxis waiting where you get off the bus so you can always team up with someone else heading for the station. There is an excellent service from Inverkeithing to Edinburgh with around 5 trains every hour. You have to cross the bridge to get to the platform on the other side of the track. Make sure you take the train into Edinburgh Waverley which is right in the city centre. We volunteer down at Rosyth on cruise ship days so I may see you and as Calmac said have a look at the cruiseforth website for useful info.
