Haines excursion question

Has anyone done the Takshanuk Mountain Trail by 4x4 excursion or the Glacial Fjord by Bicycle excursion? Would appreciate any comments.

Yes.

 

4x4 trail

You will be picked up at the Haines pier bij a local bus and guide. Do not sit in the back of the bus. It has no, or in any case a very hard suspension and the roads are bad.

 

The bus brings you to the base of the mountain. There you will be assigned a 4x4. In our case the group was small, so every couple had its own 4x4.

 

 

Then you go up the mountain. First 15 minute stop is the restaurant for some drinks/coffee.

 

we were there in the beginning of spring and the trail ended at a point with a spectacular view.

 

 

 

 

 

Going back down the stop by the restaurant is for lunch and was quite good.

 

After lunch you go down the mountain to the bus again.
