Grand Cayman near ship

We will be on a cruise that stops in Grand Cayman this summer. We are currently considering various excursions, but are also considering anything to see/do (could include shopping) within walking distance of where the ship's tender will drop us off. For those who have been to Grand Cayman before, is this a safe area to wonder around alone (we have 2 daughters - ages 10 and 13) and if so, is there anything to see/do within a reasonable walking distance? Our daughters would not be wondering around alone, but we would be alone as a family unit.

Grand Cayman is an incredibly safe port. You will be just fine walking around the port area. Once you tender to shore there is a lot of shopping and restaurants right there and in walking distance. Keep in mind, shopping in Grand Cayman is a bit expensive. More so than other islands I have been on. There are several restaurants and, again they are a little more expensive than other islands. We have also done the Atlantis Submarine and really enjoyed it. Again, a bit on the expensive side but fun.

We've enjoyed wandering around town after excursions. You could walk over to Paradise Grill and grab a bit. If the girls want to snorkel, it's only a few bucks to rent gear and you walk right in there. They also feed the tarpon which is fun to watch.

Plenty of shops & restaurants to explore. Margaritaville does have a pool in the restaurant that you can hang out in if you want to have some food and drinks.

As stated above, very clean, safe town to wander around. Expensive, though. Your tender will drop you off right in the middle of it all.
