venice embarkation with over night

Our cruise starts in Venice with an overnight, departing at Noon the first full day.

When is the best time to check in--can you check in as late as 5 -7PM?

Does the ship arrange for transportation to enjoy Venice during the eveneing you are in port?

Any hints would be helpful

If you flight allows it is better to check in ASAP,

usually 11/11:30. The pier is about a 10 minute walk to

the people mover which takes you Piazzale Roma.

At PR you can hop a vaparetto for an amazing

ride down the Grand Canal to St. Marks Square.

You would not have much time on sailaway day as the

ship leaves at noon & you have to onboard by 11 ish.

The sailaway from Venice is amazing.

P.S.We had no trouble bringing many bottles of wine

back to the ship after visitng Venice. (2012)

I'm pretty sure you can check in as late as you want on the first day since the ship doesn't leave until noon on day 2. As for the ship providing transportation the evening you're in port, they will sell you shuttle tickets on the vaporetto or as, fla jack said, take the people mover and then get a vaporetto. If time is an issue, I recommend purchasing the shuttle tickets from Celebrity.
