We were advised by our representative at Princess to take the port side (left side when facing forward) on our southbound cruise. She said that then we had a view of the land side for the entire journey. We are new to cruising so we took her advice.

Thanks, we've sailed the inside passage roundtrip out of Seattle and found that it didn't make much difference, least to us. Just not sure about the Whittier to Vancouver route or least until we get to Skagway. I feel the remainder of our itinerary, fr Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan to Vancouver will be what we've done before.

As stated, just curious upon the northern end of itinerary. Thanks for the advice. Your going to be thrilled with your trip. :)

We ARE very excited about our Alaska trip. We aren't booked until July, 2015 but I am already having a great time reading all the information on this forum! Our only other experiences with cruising has been in the Caribbean on specialty cruises. This will be our "trip of a lifetime" so planning and listening to opinions on this site and others like it is a HUGE part of making our plans!

We were on the southbound Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas in a starboard side suite. We left from Seward and disembarked in Vancouver. It was a great experience. We spent a lot of time on our balcony. Happy sailing! Alaska is awesome!
