mapleleaves Posted June 18, 2014 #30 Share Posted June 18, 2014 great photos! You'll have to make a coffee table book of this trip. What was the highlight of the trip for you?
rjeffler Posted June 18, 2014 Author #31 Share Posted June 18, 2014 great photos! You'll have to make a coffee table book of this trip. What was the highlight of the trip for you? Either the Dog Sledding on the Glacier (except we got soaked) or the whale at ISP. So cool to see him right off the shoreline! I do plan on doing a book for myself as well as the others that were on this trip with us! Definitely once in a lifetime for me as there is so much else out there to try! River cruise is next year, so that will be REALLY different than what we are used to!

Hikini Posted July 23, 2014 #34 Share Posted July 23, 2014 Great trip journal. I have enjoyed reading everything so far. Alaska is truly a beautiful wilderness.
laughing husky Posted July 24, 2014 #35 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Good review, and excellent choices of things that you did....The fishing trip that you did in Seward is a good one.....it is the one that many Alaskans go on because they are so good about everyone getting fish...The Captain by the way also knows his way around a dog team...it is what he does in the winter...:) and Gus was a good person to go dogsledding with. BTW, did you happen to go into the visitors center in Anchorage?

rjeffler Posted July 30, 2014 Author #37 Share Posted July 30, 2014 GBTW, did you happen to go into the visitors center in Anchorage? We did not. Actually we did almost nothing in Anchorage. Got there one night and left the next morning for Fairbanks. When we arrived back, had dinner with a friend, spent the night and got on the train for Seward the next morning. Sadly, we had to prioritize and Anchorage was just a stopover for us.
Dancer9933 Posted June 20, 2015 #38 Share Posted June 20, 2015 For the people in your group that took the train on the same day as the cruise how did the luggage work? Do you just put your tags on and they take it to the ship? Just trying to figure out how much time to allow for dealing with bags before going to see the glacier before boarding the ship. Thanks for the great review! We are going in August including doing Denali on our own before the cruise.
