New to RCCL. Just booked cabin 8166 on the Jewel. Anyone have any idea what the cabin balcony is like.

It looks like 8166 has an obstructed view. You might want to search images of the ship on google and you will be able to see what the obstruction actually is. Some are big, others are not.

 

We stayed in 8586 three weeks ago and it was great. It had an extended balcony and extra seating. The table was small, but we just moved our sofa table outside which The balcony wall was all glass which was nice. The Jewel has the green tinted glass instead of the clear.

The "obstruction" is a window washing platform and ladder ABOVE your head. It's visible, but really doesn't obstruct your view at all. No worries!
