shelpt Posted June 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2014 We are planning to rent a car for 4 days in fort lauderdale after our cruise. Trying to figure out the quickest way so we can enjoy as much of our time in florida as we can. We want to be able to return the car to the airport when we're done. Is it faster to rent from one of the local places right near the port or taking a shuttle to the airport to rent there? Im trying to avoid waiting in line for hours. Do most people head to local places to rent or go to the airport? Any thoughts for when to book the start time for the rental? Can we make it by 10? Dont want to pay more than I have to, it's expensive to rent in FL! Thanks for any suggestions!
MADflyer Posted June 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2014 If you can get a deal you are happy with at Budget on 17th street with return at FLL they seemed to have improved shuttle circulation and are good option. They are right accross the port exit. Dollar/thrifty are just out the other exit. Avis and Hertz and Sixt are close. Alamo is at airport and more risk for long lines. The satelite port locations have somewhat limited inventory, but are quite good.
