Redbarnphotog Posted June 18, 2014 #26 Share Posted June 18, 2014 I was on this cruise too. So glad we only hit the buffet once after the "outbreak". We heard it was 55 people but didn't inquire too much more. Though in the casino it was funny to see all the off-duty dealers cleaning like mad every touchable surface. Doughboy139 Posted June 18, 2014 #27 Share Posted June 18, 2014 A member of our group dropped her wallet in the Spinnaker Lounge. By the time she realized it, the wallet had already been taken with $2000 cash inside. Another passenger noticed us looking for it, and said she saw a man leaving Spinnaker with the wallet. We reported the theft to security, who thoroughly searched all of our staterooms. Then we were told that the wallet had been turned in by a passenger in the buffet area. The security team was able to refer to video from the buffet to see who returned the wallet. We all thought there was no way that the "good samaritan" was stupid enough to return a wallet that he'd found and removed cash from -- but that was exactly the case. We were told that after reviewing all available footage, they found video of him taking the wallet to his stateroom before returning it in the buffet area. The good news was that the $2000 was split amongst 2 pockets in the wallet, and he only found half of it. We know there's a good chance he won't be convicted, since they can't prove that any cash found on him wasn't his. But we were told that he was arrested in front of his wife and 2 children -- so that's probably punishment enough. Why is somebody walking around the ship with $2000.00 on them. You can't use money anyway on the ship except in the casino and at the service desk . This is why there are safes in the room.....
