transfer options mykanos old port to town

I want to share this with everyone. We were due to tender and the day before changed it to docking at the old town. The ship offered a $12 a person transfer but mentioned nothing about anything local. We as with many other passengers were rather annoyed and the ship took multiple complaints from those that purchased tickets, offering 50% refunds to those that complained.

 

100 metres from the ship is the gate and right next to the shuttle are 2 other options

 

local bus is 1 euro 60 each person each way and drops in exactly the same place as the shuttle which is a 10 minute walk into town

 

water taxi 2 euros each and docks in the centre of town, no walking required and took buggies and wheelchairs - you must purchase your tickets from the booth and not at the water taxi so make sure you get these first. We missed the taxi as we got to it to find we had to walk back 200m to get them and it sailed before we got back but another was there in 5 minutes.

I understand some cruise lines put on a free shuttle from and back to the ship. Which cruise line were you on please?

There was no bait & switch. Re-read the post.

 

Glad we tendered with RCCL back on May 21st.
