going2cruz Posted June 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2014 I want to purchase the drink package but from recent reviews I'm reading 30 - 40 minute wait times for a drink. I don’t want to buy it if that’s the case so I'm wondering if it’s been corrected by now?

I don’t want to buy it if that’s the case so I'm wondering if it’s been corrected by now? Did the reviews say what the hold up was? A half hour wait for a drink seems ridiculous no matter what ship you're on, bar package or not? I've talked to many folks on several different ships (Vision included) that raved about the bar packages.
Darkwolfe Posted June 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2014 There was no bar wait at all when we sailed. I think that may only be happening on the shorty cruises and not all of those. Review in process linked in sig below.

One review said they had to go from pool deck to casino for a drink. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

One review said they had to go from pool deck to casino for a drink. You know, it wasn't terrible, never had to wait a half hour, but it is definitely not the Royal service it used to be. Any other ship had 2 bartenders at busy locations, and wait staff that actually would make the rounds and approach patrons trying to sell drinks. I don't think I would EVER sail Vision again. If I was Diamond member and could enjoy the Viking Crown Lounge it would be a different story. The normal once a year cruiser loses out now. Royal put in Izumi and cuts Viking Crown in. Half and then jams in Diamond Lounge. Nearly nonexistent service at Schooner Bar also. Dining room staff working extra hard, and plenty of staff at windjammer asking if they can get you a drink, get you a refill etc. Vision not a bad ship just not a Royal Caribbean experience any more. It was a bit hectic at first but they were smart by putting up portable bars on the sides of the mail pool so that helped the demand big time. If you wanted a frozen icy drink that took some time. Getting beer, water, simple mixed drink was quick with the portable bars. Best best would be to go to the solarium pool bar as there was far less of a crowd. Nice that they started doing the portable bars..It would have helped out greatly in May when we sailed.. Hope they continue to do that.. :)
