Tony O Posted July 21, 2014 #26 Share Posted July 21, 2014 We're coming in from the North, crossing into the U.S. from Canada at Buffalo N.Y. for our November 2014 cruise. For us it looks like White Marsh is probably closer than BWI, so I have booked the Hilton Garden Inn there. Am I going to get into the major construction slowdowns mentioned coming from the North? If so, is there a way to avoid this? Any and all advice/comments welcome. You will be fine in Maryland. The construction in Maryland on Interstate 95 is south of the cruise port . Although there will be construction in the White Marsh area there are no lane closures since the work is being done is on the shoulders or in the center between north and southbound. BTW here are a few links for the White Marsh Mall area where you will be staying. http://theavenueatwhitemarsh.com/ http://www.whitemarshmall.com/

Engrvrgal Posted July 27, 2014 #28 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Thanks very much for your prompt and informative response. I don't know of any other public forum with so many helpful and knowledgeable members. I agree. I have absolutely no knowledge of the Baltimore area. I needed a hotel for my Grandeur cruise next April. I originally booked the NONO hotel on O'Donnell street. After coming on here and getting the scoop, I cancelled that and rebooked for the Fairfield Inn and Suites in White Marsh for their park and cruise package. Thanks to the kindness and knowledge of others here, I am now sure we made a great choice and hope it will be the beginning of a great cruise! First time sailing on Grandeur and this time sailing with my best friend. A great combination all around!
WendyCn Posted July 27, 2014 #29 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Anyone coming from the north, I can't see how you can go wrong with the White Marsh area! Sit back, relax & have fun!!
Tony O Posted July 28, 2014 #30 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Update: There have been left lane closures during the day near White Marsh lately because of work being done at or near the exit ramp flyover bridge. There have been some backups but most have been slow rolling ones nithing to be concerned about.

missvacation Posted July 29, 2014 #32 Share Posted July 29, 2014 Thanks! That's is great to know. There seem to be many nice hotels in the BWI area. I'm having a bit of a hard time finding which ones offer the cruise/parking packages, I'm looking on Expedia and such. But I can find which ones I like and then call. The Marriott, and Fairfield Inn look very nice. Sent from my iPhone using Forums We have sailed a number of times from Baltimore. In January we used trinity reservations dot com, will use again on our next venture out of Baltimore in February. Parking included with transportation to and from part (includes a great breakfast). trixiegal Posted September 1, 2014 #39 Share Posted September 1, 2014 I've found a few park & cruise hotels in Glen Burnie. Anyone know what it's like there? It's okay, kind of a busy, working class area. I'd choose to stay in Hanover or Elkridge over Glen Burnie. Sent from my iPad using Forums
