  1. I did, unless we were in port. I was able to text/make calls as normal then.
  2. What part of Akron? I’m from Bath-my parents moved to Green a few years ago. I’m in Cleveland now and a Browns STH.
  3. We love staying in Coral Gables. Lots of options for food/shopping…all walkable and we feel safe exploring the area. Uber/Lyft to the port is about $20.
  4. <<The glacier itself wasn't fully visible from where the ship turned around, and only those who paid the extra to go see it got to travel down an even more narrow corridor. I hear it often isn't worth it, but our friends from the atrium went, and reported a chunk of ice came loose, giving them amazing pictures and video of it.>> We did the TAF excursion and it was the highlight of the cruise for us. I’m *almost* looking forward to going back to work on Monday to show everyone the pictures. 🙂 Next time, ask your steward for a blue blanket-they were game changers! We kept them ready for hanging out on the balcony and didn’t have to mess up the beds. Super warm and cozy. I’m on a mission to find one to buy for home. They are much warmer than the Dive In Movie blankets and queen sized.
  5. I was on the Spirit this cruise, we had great weather the whole cruise. I’m going to have to look for myself in your pictures, since we were in Skagway together. 🙂
  6. We were on this cruise and had the best time! Everything from flights (CLE-SEA on Alaska), to pre/post cruise hotel and actual cruise were flawless-we also got moved to balcony, 6th floor, front of the ship with the change to the Spirit. Can’t wait for your review. We’re ready to book again.
  7. We leave for Seattle and the Spirit next Sunday. Your review is making me more excited. Let’s hope for good weather!
  8. How do you sign up on the Spirit for SoulPlay? I thought I read somewhere on another Alaska review that on that ship you could sign up through the Hub app.
  9. We know you’re really heading to Cinci for the Taylor Swift concert like the rest of the state. 🙂 We were driving down 71 and every other car was filled with Swifties.
  10. My favorite area to escape on Spirit class ships. Have fun!
  11. Last month we ventured out to Coral Gables and stayed at Hotel Ponce de Leon. We weren't sure what to expect-it was about $175 per night. It's small, no elevator but we loved it and booked it for our next Miami cruise. Lots of shopping, restaurants and bars within walking distance. Neighborhood seems safe. About $20 from the airport and $15 to the port.
  12. Is it the same as you'd get from the pizzeria? Not fans of the usual Carnival pizza, we try it every cruise and are on a mission to find something we like "next time". :)
  13. We disembarked the day you got on. While we had a good time-we were on a cruise and not at work-it definitely is in the bottom 3 of my 17 Carnival cruises. The food anywhere except for the deli or Guys was lukewarm at best. The sky ride and ropes course were never open with no reason given why. Shows were blah. Comedians were pretty good. Staff was tremendous. I had high hopes because I loved the Vista when we sailed on her years ago. Like I said, I still had a good time, but kind of feel like we were missing out on something. Would my experience turn me away from Carnival? Absolutely not. I’m just hoping my Alaskan Cruise on the Spirit lives up to my expectations or at least comes close. 😊
  14. If you left from D and return to F they provide shuttles to get you to the parking garage.
  15. Ships stay on the homeport time as far as I know.
  16. We haven't had good experiences with them (used them twice). Our latest and last time was in April. There was 1 bus sent to the hotel to pick up more than 100 people with reservations for early pick up . 2 more busses finally arrived an hour late, but they were there for the next round of reserved pick ups. The driver didn't know how to get to the ports and dropped Disney cruise passengers off in a random parking lot telling them to "walk toward the ship". We were going to Carnival and she couldn't figure out how to get there. Luckily another passenger gave her directions. Pick up from the ship was a little more organized, but still pretty bad. We learned our lesson and won't use them again. Good luck!
  17. We like the Coral Gables area. We’re trying out Ponce De Leon in April. We’ve never stayed there, but friends recommend it. I don’t have what we booked for, but I think it was less than $175.
  18. It was a good one...we almost left. For once, we made the right decision by staying!
  19. Thank you! I'm the "unofficial tour guide" of the group and the thought of trying to get everyone where we want to be (none of us have been to Seattle before) is making me crazy!
  20. We're thinking of doing the same thing. Is it easy to find the light rail at the airport? I'm an OCD planner and am already stressed about the process.
  21. We used them in April. Pick up was an hour late (both coming and going). Drop off at the port was awful due to the number of stops that were made. We were 2 hours late for our check in time. It was an awful experience. Totally unorganized. I don’t suggest going with them. There are other companies that provide the same service that have much better reviews. We didn’t believe the reviews, but learned our lesson the hard way.
  22. HORRIBLE! Transportation was beyond awful (hour late) both to and from the port. Choose another option.
  23. On the Magic in April, some days they had the fresh cut original fries. Some days they had frozen fires.
  24. We use it for gift cards at Cherry on Top and then pay off our next cruise when we get home.
