Cork, Glasgow

An extract of an email I sent to someone visiting Ireland. :o You can ignore the info from Belfast if not applicable. The tours by locals site is one I've had good luck with in the past.

Anyway here are the sites with various Irish sights. May not scratch your itches but there's a lot of data there.

The Titanic Museum in Cobh is supposed to be quite special says a neighbor of ours who visited last year. Your ticket to the museum is a boarding Pass to the Titanic for one of the real pax. At the end you get to see if you made it or not.

Even if you don't want to take the time for a Distillery Tour you can get a great souvenir at the gift shop. Bushmills is not my first choice Irish whisky; but there is a special 12-year-old Bushmill's Blue that is only sold at the distillery. Makes a great truly unique gift for any on your list who'd appreciate such a thing.

The last four relates to a tour we're taking as a DIY when we dock in Belfast. Recommend below site for arranging day trips anywhere they serve around the world. This place is shown in Game of Thrones and is on the direct route back from Giant's Causeway to Belfast.

We called in Cork this May on Ruby Princess, in fact we docked in Cobh. Off the ship and the railway station is through the gates to catch train to Cork, free wi fi ion train! When we arrived in Cork Hoho bus was outside the station which we used and after we caught train back to Cobh. Cobh has Titanic museum and the town was very welcoming and friendly, we just strolled around.

Glasgow we docked at Greenock, easy 10 minute or so walk to railway station to catch train into Glasgow, again free wifi on train. We then wandered around and again went on Hoho, very good value and so much to see and do but not enough time to do it all.

Both ports of call exceeded our expectations and would love to spend more time in both. We find that hoho gives a very good overview at a reasonable cost, our dinner companions did ship tours and basically saw what we saw but at a much higher price.

Enjoy your time I'm sure you'll love it
