VacationCrazee Posted July 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Is there any truth to the rumor that MSC has decided to pull OUT of the North American market after next year??? :(
Alex71 Posted July 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2014 To be honest, I find that hard to believe. Florida has been a typical winder destination for many years, so I can't imagine that they would pull their ships altogether. Over the summer of course, more money can be made elsewhere. VacationCrazee Posted July 6, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted July 6, 2014 I did a google search and here is one of the articles that came up. . . It is a little confusing but it seems that MSC has rethought their use of the Divina and this ship will no longer be based in Miami year round. . . . Not really surprised. http://www.miamiherald.com/2014/04/29/4087063/msc-says-commitment-to-north-america.html :(
Alex71 Posted July 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Makes sense given that MSC rates this summer accross Europe were two or three times as high as they were in Florida.

American Bear Posted July 7, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 7, 2014 (edited) The Divina will summer in Europe after this year's detour to the World Cup, and eventually/hopefully Miami will receive one of the larger new ships MSC will have coming out starting in 2017!:) MSC has over 10 years in North America! With 4 Costa ships coming to the Caribbean in the winter of 2015, it seems the Caribbean will be the winter stop for European ships in the future!:) Sounds like lower prices for us here in N. America during the winter months!:D Edited July 7, 2014 by American Bear
