Withdrawing Cash

Basically, here is how the casino method works:

> Pick a slot machine

> Use your S&S card

> Use the keypad to enter your secret code (PIN)

> Choose the option to add money to the machine (as if you put dollar bills in it to play)

> The amount you choose is charged to your S&S account (shows up like a purchase)

> At this point some say you have to play a couple times, some say you don't

> On the slot machine, hit the "Cash Out" button

> The machine prints a receipt showing your balance (the receipt can be inserted to another slot machine if you were wanting to play a different one)

> Take the receipt to the Cashier Cage (or casino kiosk if they have one)

> Get your money (cold hard cash!)

Explaining how to identify and use the penny slots (with minimum bet) would be difficult to explain here - mainly because there are so many. It would be easier just to find a friendly cruiser nearby and ask for a little help. If I was there I'd be glad to help you. :D

If you are using this casino method, I doesn't matter what funds your S&S account.

I'm still waiting to hear from JH (or "the Beards") on whether the blue kiosks charge for withdrawing. I will post their answer here when I get it.

Happy cruising!

This is a great detailed explanation. And I discovered that I was wrong and the Splendor does have the kiosk. I don't know how I read that wrong the first time.

I'm looking forward to finding out what the official word is when you hear back from them. Thank you for the insights.

Here's a question related to the S&S Kiosks:

If my S&S account is set up with a credit card (i.e. NOT cash, no OBC, NOT a debit card), can I withdraw cash from the kiosks?

NO, you can't, at least we couldn't last year.

But remember that when you draw cash from a credit card, the company starts processing you for interest on that day (or at least the credit cards I have).

generally true, but not in this case where you withdraw it from cash out on the slots. The cash just goes on your S&S bill like any other charge. I max out the daily cash out on every cruise for the credit card points.

I have a questions that is sort of similar. I won't have time to get to the bank before sailing, but I will be able to stop at an ATM. Since the ATMs only give $20 bills, am I able to exchange cash for smaller bills on the ship?

You can get change at the guest services desk.

Last cruise I went to the ATM to withdraw money on the morning of our excursion. BIG mistake. Both ATM machines were out of money. Service desk only allowed you to withdraw so much (don't remember how much). In the end it wasn't enough. We went to a little bistro on St. maarten that said they used credit cards. I tried to use both of mine and were declined. I had to hold up the rest of the tour bus running back to get money from my teenage daughter's friend. Missed larfge jet flying into the airport on St. maarten. However, credit card worked just fine in the port area shops:mad:.

Moral of the story? Don;t wait to get cash!

  • 2 weeks later...

We were on the Breeze last week. We took out $1000 from our OBC using the kiosk by Guest Services. There was no processing fee withheld. We did two transactions of $500 each without waiting at all. Very easy!
