  1. The only option for Blaze Comedy for my April cruise is “Add to calendar” which can only be done after you board. I had previously assumed there was no way to reserve prior to boarding, but now I’m wondering if all the dates have already sold out.
  2. Thank you. I’m wondering if the reason most of the activities are no longer showing for my sailing is due to the fact that the original itinerary had Haiti and they had to substitute another port in its place. It’s just odd that the activities suddenly disappeared last week.
  3. I'm also on the April 7th sailing and I'm not seeing hardly any events listed in the Daily Planner app. It did last week but pretty much the only events showing on the Daily Planner now are the shows which you have to make reservations for. Prior to last week, we were able to bookmark events like the comedy shows but they're no longer showing. For example, for Day 1, the Daily Planner starts at 6 AM and then the next time listed isn't until 7 PM. Surely there are many activities taking place on the ship between 6 Am and 7 PM. Are you seeing the same thing or is something wrong with my iPhone? Is this normal so close to the sailing?
  4. Hi All, I will be on a cruise that will be visiting St. Maarten and St. Thomas in April. I'm trying to remember whether it's necessary to bring our passports with us when we step off the ship to visit these ports. We both have passports so that would not be a problem, but I'd rather not bring them unless necessary due to the possibility of losing them. Can someone please refresh my memory if it's necessary to bring our passports in these ports? Thanks in advance for any feedback.
  5. Hi All, I will be gong on a cruise in April with a stop in St. Thomas. I'm trying to decide which beach to visit that day. I have it narrowed down to Magen's Bay and Sapphire Beach. I know Magen's Bay has calm waters. I'm wondering if Sapphire beach also has calm waters as or if it has big waves. The person I'm going with likes calm waters. If Sapphire also has calm waters we'll probably go there as I have been to Magen's Bay already but that was about 10 years ago. Can someone please let me know how these two beach compare, and specifically whether the waters at Sapphire beach are calm and similar to those at Magen's Bay? I appreciate any feedback.
  6. I’m going on the same cruise and also flying from Newark to Vancouver. The only difference is our flight is July 3rd. Really hoping this dispute gets straightened out.
  7. I'm sailing on the Crown Princess in July and I'm not as concerned about the shower head as I am about the mattress. I've read that the mattresses on this ship are really poor to the point that some people complained about getting a bad back from sleeping on them. I really hope it's not as bad as it sounds as getting a decent night's sleep can go a long way towards an enjoyable vacation.
  8. This is very helpful. I very much appreciate that you took the time to come back here after your cruise to share your observations. We have 6:40 PM dinner reservations in the Michelangelo dining room so very similar to yours. I have decided that I will wear the dress shirt and pants (without the jacket) on formal night as I had originally considered. Thank you and everyone else who weighed in for your very helpful suggestions.
  9. That’s very helpful. For some reason I think of Princess as being strict with their dress code but maybe that was in the past. Thanks!
  10. Thank you. Not sure what Alaska gear means. What it be out of place if I were to wear a nice shirt and dress pants without a tie or jacket on formal night? I’d rather not pack a jacket as suitcase space will be limited but want to dress respectfully and not stand out.
  11. When you say about half the ship was formal, what do you mean by formal? Do you mean half the men were wearing tuxedos or do you mean they were wearing suits or jackets and ties. I’m going on an Alaskan cruise next month and it’s my first on Princess so I’d like to know how most people dress on formal nights.
  12. Hello everyone, I will be going on my first Princess cruise in July. It is an Alaskan cruise. I'm trying to figure out what clothes I will need to pack for dinner in the MDR. I am familiar with Royal Caribbean and to a lesser extent Carnival, but have no experience with either Princess or the Alaskan itinerary. I have heard that people tend to dress more casually on Alaskan cruises, but I also believe that people tend to dress up a little more on Princess than the other two lines. I will be wearing a nice dress shirt and pants on formal night but am wondering if I need to pack a sports jacket as well. I'd rather not as space in the suitcase will be limited. Also, am I right to assume that a polo shirt and a nice pair of jeans are what most people wear for dinner on casual nights? Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.
  13. That is good to know. Surprised they can't fix something that seems so simple.
  14. I'm on the same August 18th cruise. I also received the Travel Authorization today, and like you, the printout is cutoff on the bottom. As long as we have the email authorization on our phone, I think we should be good.
  15. I was the first passenger booked but they used the C & A status of the second passenger in my case. So it does not appear to be consistent in this regard which I guess isn’t too surprising.
  16. That would explain it since the person I'm traveling with has Gold C & A status. I wonder why they would use the status of the lowest tiered passenger. Based on the responses it appears the C & A status on the luggage means absolutely nothing (apparently except Star Class) as I suspected. But of course that begs the question, then why put it on the luggage at all?
  17. I just printed the luggage tags for my upcoming cruise on Adventure of the Seas. It has the correct cabin number but it's showing a gold C & A status and it should be emerald. This might sound like a weird question, but just making sure this will make no difference. I'm assuming the Cabin Stewart will know my correct C & A status (since it's correct on the app) and the luggage tags are literally just for the luggage? If that's the case as I suspect, obviously I will leave it as is. Does anyone know if it makes any difference? Thanks in advance.
  18. I recently completed the check-in process and uploaded images of the vaccination cards but didn’t see an option to upload images of the passports. I did fill in the passport numbers but again no image of the passport uploaded. Am I missing something?
  19. This was a great idea. Apparently my sailing is the last 9 day cruise with the Caribbean itinerary on AOS. There are some 9 day cruises going to Canada on the same ship so I assume that should also have the same show schedule? Right now the Daily Planner shows that it's too far out but to come back when the date is closer to the sailing. I will do that and hopefully will be able to schedule MTD based on the showtimes if the times are still available. Thank you. Much appreciated.
  20. Cruising in an inside cabin was great. Until I booked my first balcony cabin. I sometimes consider booking an inside but could never pull the trigger. I don't know if booking that first balcony was the smartest thing I could have done or the dumbest. Because now I feel like I can't go back.
  21. Yes it does seem that Adventure of the Seas is a ship where a lot of complaints are coming in regarding MTD. I'm also hoping the situation will be resolved by my cruise in August but am not so sure I want to take a chance. I'd be willing to choose a time (although prefer not to be locked into a time) but want to make sure it doesn't conflict with the shows. Maybe there is a way to find out the showtimes in advance? I was glad to see the 6:00 PM timeslot listed as I've read that sometimes the earliest time slot is 7:00 PM so maybe that means there will be less of a chance of long lines? Have a great cruise in September!
  22. I have chosen My Time Dining for my upcoming August cruise on Adventure of the Seas. We are now able to schedule dinner time for each night of the cruise on the Cruise Planner. The MTD times are from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The last few cruises I have used My Time Dining instead of Traditional Dining and have found it to be preferable due to the flexibility it offers. However, to the best of my recollection we just showed up and were seated at a table. I don't remember selecting a time in advance as that would seem to defeat the primary advantage of MTD which is to not be locked into a particular time. Of course it's possible we did have the option of scheduling in advance and I just don't remember. I have read concerning stories on these boards from people who had very bad experiences recently with MTD and having to wait in long lines. Obviously I want to avoid that at all costs. OTOH, I really don't want to commit to a particular time each evening either. Due to the complaints I've read, I think I will be using MTD and selecting a time for each evening thereby forgoing the advantage of flexibility. The issue I am having now as I try to decide the best time is that we like to go to the shows, so we want to make sure the dining time doesn't conflict with the show times. With all this in mind, is there a particular show schedule for early and late seating times that we can use as a guide so we can book our MTD dinner times? Do the times change or are they the same for each sailing on a particular ship? If so, is there a way to find out the show times? Or do you think we would be able to keep our preferred flexibility and just show up at the time of our choosing without much of a wait? I don't recall having to worry about this in the past as MTD seemed to work very smoothly. Thanks in advance for any help or insight.
  23. I’ll be taking my first cruise in four years and will be bringing my passport. I’m trying to remember if it’s necessary to bring the passport when we leave the ship in each port or if a copy will suffice which would allow us to leave the original in the safe. Surprised by the things one can forget.
  24. Glad to hear they are expanding the times for MTD but I've never scheduled MTD prior to the cruise. The aspect of My Time Dining I like the most is that we can have dinner at a different time each evening without having to worry about sticking to a schedule. Would there be some kind of disadvantage to not scheduling MTD on the Planner ahead of time? Now that it appears they are opening up the earlier time slots, is there a benefit to scheduling ahead of time? Do the time slots fill up? I haven't cruised in four years and just making sure I'm not missing something. Thanks.
