maystar08 Posted July 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2014 Hi matey, i`ve just looked at the trips for trapani and thomson are offering a half day tour to enrice via the cable cars as this the trip our party are booking, so i would think they must be running before 1 o clock. Sheila49 Posted July 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) Not sure about Trapani but we found that, due to an early departure from Messina, not all the trips on the website were available. You have to put your booking ref. in to see which ones are available on your itinerary. It may be that the cable car will operate in the morning because there is a cruise ship in. I think you would have time to take the bus, it's not that far, or maybe a taxi. Edited July 15, 2014 by Sheila49
Chelseawolves Posted July 15, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted July 15, 2014 Sorry but my link is not working for cable cars, but it says not running on Mondays to 1 pm, except the odd Monday. May star why not make your own way to erice?, just 13 km from port. If cable cars running, take bus from port to cable car and then just 9 euro return on cable cars. If not running take the ast bus to erice, takes 50 mins.

Chelseawolves Posted July 15, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted July 15, 2014 We're doin a tour while in rome, that's the only time.however using a company called rome in limo, great reviews on tripadvisor. Shame you are in rome day after as you could have joined us. Booked a tour for 8 people, costing 600 euros, so 75 euros each person( roughly 61 pounds). There is four of us, so looking for four others to join.saves hanging around for lots of people, notice on rome in limo tour sharing someone doin tour on 3 rd sept and looking for others to share, something you may want to consider. joeholiday2 Posted July 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 15, 2014 We did the cable car on our own 2 years ago, all the indication from around the web (ta etc) said that it was closed all day Monday. We made our way there and got one up around ten am. I think they run it as long as a ship is in port. Just give it a try..... KirkNC Posted July 15, 2014 #12 Share Posted July 15, 2014 When we stopped there we rented a car, can't remember all the details but there was a rental car place a mile or so from port. Brought my portable GPS and spent a great day in Erice.
Tony1878 Posted July 15, 2014 #13 Share Posted July 15, 2014 Make time to have a look around Trapani, it's a lovely little place. The ship berths right in town and you wander off through the narrow streets, have a Sicilian ice cream and a drink.
