Luckyladyh Posted July 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2014 I would like to go and visit and pet the puppies and dogs however have no interest in riding or a tour. Can someone tell me which city has a company that does this within town or close to. I don't want to go on a glacier - just pet some dogs and take pictures. Don't particularly want to take a tour - just cab over to a dog farm type place. We will be at the following stops: Ketchican Juneau Skagway Seward Thanks! bearbait Posted July 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2014 Call them and tell them what you want to do. I have no idea what a dog farm is but I've never heard of one in Alaska. Seward would be the town you want to do this in. http://www.ididaride.com/?gclid=CMz5ibCE4r8CFQIvaQodBo8A-g
GORDONCHICK Posted July 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2014 (edited) It's been a number of years since we did this, but we took the WPRR through Chilkoot to Carrots (the port would be Skagway). Then we boarded a shuttle. They took us to a place for lunch called Caribou Crossings. There was also a museum there as well as many many husky puppies. I got several photos of my then 6yo DS holding a puppy and petting others. Edited July 26, 2014 by GORDONCHICK
