Baltimore/Bermuda why only 6/7 days

I don't get it. Florida has plenty of 3/4 day cruises. Why don't Carnival or RC offer a shorter cruise from Baltimore to Bermuda? It's already so expensive for some reason and I would love to go but a day or two stop on Bermuda at best would be plenty for me and at a lower cost. Why don't they offer this?

Carnival doesn't really do Bermuda (they had one cruise re-routed there this year and only one scheduled for next year). I imagine they don't do it because they aren't money makers. The amount of fuel it would take to get there overnight (which isn't actually possible) would outweigh any kind of "savings" for the cruiser because of the amount of money you'd pay in fuel costs.

Florida gets away with 3 and 4 day cruises because Freeport, Nassau and most of the lines private islands are under 200 miles away from Miami--they can make those ports overnight.

Due to the new US low sulfur fuel (within 200 miles) Carnival also has cut its Canada trips out of NYC (4/5 days) as well.

The July 3rd reroute to Bermuda cost them a bundle, call was made at 12:30p and the ship had already bunkered a lot of the low sulfur fuel for the trip to Canada. In Bermuda they loaded the regular stuff for the trip back to the US and 200 mile limit though.

I do miss the short cruises out of NYC.
