dogchopper Posted August 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2014 Our cruise stops in San Juan and we were looking into the Bacardi Rum Factory tour. How close is it to the pier and can we take a taxi there easily? Is there anything else we can do right near there that we can do to make a day of it??. Any suggestions would be appreciated. kath0291 Posted August 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2014 At the pier (it was 2 docks down) there is a water taxi $.50 per person takes you across the lake and then a $3.00 taxi ride and you are at Bacardi. Then we went back to the pier and shopped. It was old cobblestone streets with a large variety of stores for many blocks. Then we had to stop a senor frogs. was a great inexpensive day. Unless you count what I spent in the Guess store.
Colbycat Posted August 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2014 About how much time do you think you need to allow for the Bacardi tour, including ferry and taxi there and back?

bouhunter Posted August 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 2, 2014 We've been to San Juan many times and must admit we've not gone to the Bacardi plant. I'd recommend you do some research, from everything I've heard it's not a "tour" of the plant, sounds more like a video and a couple samples. I wouldn't expect to actually see the production facilities in person.

bouhunter Posted August 2, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Yes the Bacardi tour does get good reviews on tripadvisor. You'll love Old San Juan. History, dining, shopping, drinking and forts!!:D
kath0291 Posted August 2, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 2, 2014 You are on the grounds of the factory but only go to an area where they have a set up for the history of Bacardi and changes over time. With a couple movies and drink recipes. Then there is a store and patio where you get 2 drinks. Interesting history about Bacardi Sent from my SGH-T989D using Forums mobile app
