We will be taking the Vantage Travel Douro River Cruise in October. Has anyone taken the Optional Excursion to Fatima? Is it worth taking?

We love Vantage and have been looking at taking the Douro River cruise.

I can't comment on the Fatima excursion, but I did go to Fatima in 1985 when I visited Portugal.

 

Fatima is a site for Catholic religious pilgrims. Years ago, a young girl had a vision from the Virgin Mary.

 

It was a bit interesting to me, but I am not Catholic and wished that I had gone elsewhere.

 

In my opinion, the value of such an excursion would depend on whether or not you are a devout Catholic.
