cruise4sun&fun Posted August 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2014 Hi all. Looking for advice on a 1nt. pre-cruise stay at a Vancouver hotel next June. About $200 max. Blue Horizon and Sunset Inn & Suites seem to be decent. Any thoughts on them? Their locations? Other possibilities? Thanks for any input! :)
Floridanamaw Posted August 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2014 We are booked at the Blue Horizon in September after our cruise. It gets great reviews and priced under 200.00. I will let everyone know how we liked it when we return home in September. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Captain Canuck Posted August 5, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2014 so are you flying in or driving also important if you want time in vancouver or just waiting for cruise lots of reasonable hotels out by the airport some have stay and fly deals that can be used for a cruise ...pay a bit more and leave your car for the week have used a ramada that had underground parking sky train is easy connector to cruise port if you can wheel your luggage a couple of short blocks. cruzinbabes Posted August 5, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2014 (edited) We have stayed at the Blue Horizon many times. It's a great location on Robson St, and you can walk to a wide variety of restaurants, shops and entertainment. It's less that a mile from Canada Place (the main cruise ship terminal). Vancouver has a great public transportation system...if you have time, I would suggest a ride on the seabus to North Vancouver and a ride on the bus to the quaint fishing village of Horseshoe Bay. Urban trekker Posted August 6, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 6, 2014 Blue Horizon is the better of the two - the Sunset Inn is actually a converted apartment building and while close to restaurants - 24 hour Denny's around the corner - it is further away from Stanley Park. The area around the Sunset is more residental in nature while the Blue Horizon is near the epic center of the downtown core. Aim for the higher floors with mountain views if staying at the Blue Horizon. Cheers Dennis
