Boarding time at Red Hook - Brooklyn

We are sailing on the Royal Princess on September 27th. I just printed the boarding pass and it shows check in 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Is this normal times for Brooklyn, or is it because the ship is coming into the US from a TA?

 

Just want to board as soon as possible and start the cruise!

It pretty normal. I ignore the time they suggest and get there early.

Important item is it is coming from a TA and not a closed loop cruise. Document inspection for crew and passengers are much more thorough on an arriving TA and it may delay the boarding process.

Thanks, I was concerned about the delays because of the TA. We'll probably get there around 11:30 and hope for the best.
