Northern Residence Posted August 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2014 So we're going to splurge( big birthday and anniversary) and book a suite on the Windsurf. Can anyone tell me if the Bridge Suite is worth the extra $$? Have read some negative reviews re privacy and wondering if we'd feel too isolated. Hillskis Posted August 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2014 We have been on the Wind Surf 7 times and only once did we have the bridge suite 503. The suite is very nice with walk-in closet, free laundry service, 2 large flat-screen TVs, double sinks, Jacuzzi, shower, sitting room and queen bed. Although people walk past you room's porthole windows, they are treated with tinting to block seeing in. At night the drapes are drawn so it's not an issue. The entrance to the 502 & 503 suites is very private. The only issue we had was the first morning when it sounded like a someone was rolling a ball on the deck above us. The bridge suites are located below the Veranda where breakfast & lunch are served so there is a little bit of noise from that. We got used to it once we understood what it was. Would we pay the premium for that suite again? No, we feel the deck 3 suites are sufficient. Also, the deck 3 suites have 2 bathrooms which really come in handy. laurelguy Posted August 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Bridge Suites are great but pricey...done them several times. If you love space, big jacuzzi tub..living room..huge closet..2 TV's...you'll be in heaven. No real noise problems. Beware opening door from outside. For some reason...it's a job for Superman. I say go for it!
Babr Posted August 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2014 Do you have to go out on the open deck to get to other decks or is there an inside stairwell//hallway? I posted a question earlier, but it has worked itself down the page and out to eternity somewhere. Has anyone seen the interior of 501? It is a regular suite, but it has a different configuration. I was hoping someone may have sailed in it this summer and can comment.
Hillskis Posted August 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2014 Outside of 502 & 503 is a corridor that goes toward the bow and stairs that go up and down. You do not need to go outside to move throughout the ship. Being on the bridge level you only need to go up 1 deck or down 1 deck to get to the main dinning venues. Suite 501 is much smaller than 502 & 503. It is directly behind the bridge and next to the captain's and officers quarters. One very nice feature of the bridge suites is the ability to host a cocktail party in your parlor. We have done that a couple of times when we were in 503. You just tell room service what you want for appetizers and they will bring it to you. Although there is only 1 bathroom, it is so big both people can be in it at once (double sinks & large shower).
